I heard a rumour that there may be an approved alternative to our engine steam gauges. Does anyone know anything about these?

Does anybody have the MVP-50T and can give any commentary on it? Can it handle all five fuel tanks (2 mains, 2 wingtips, 1 aft auxiliary)?

It looks like it doesn't support 5 fuel tanks; the manual on page 56 says:

The resistive and capacitive inputs share channels. Only one input type should be used per channel.

and the specifications web page says "4 resistive fuel gauges, 4 capacitative fuel gauges"

I got an answer back from EI: The display supports the 5 fuel tanks, but you need an extra EDC-33T or EDC-33P.

Does any of you know how the baggage (and wingtip, if you have them) fuel tanks will be displayed on the screen? All examples on their website contain only two fuel levels. On the attached picture, do you know what indication we will lose (clocks? volts/amps/oat?) to be replaced by our additional fuel tanks?

it is my understanding that all engine guages for the silver eagle will be on page 1 an all 5 fuel tanks will be displayed on page 2, so you will need to hit the SCRN button to toggle views between engine management and fuel

yes...will be on page 2: but you need an additional computer (edc) to be able to display 5 tanks

I'm filling in mine with my avionics company. It needs to be filled in before ordering the MVP-50T, since for certified aircraft, only EI can (re)program the unit in regards of gauges, colour markings, annunciators, etc. So if your avionics company has ordered your MVP-50T from EI, that sheet has already been finalised. Beyond a general "ideas of what to put where", as of 2019-02-03, I was wondering how you guys were dealing with a few specific issues.

A big one was placement of multiple red lines on Np, TOT, N1. ammeter, ... At the time, EI wanted to restrict me to a single red range, and refused to put any intermediate marking within the red range. I was close to cancelling the idea of the MVP50T because of that (I cannot respect a limit that I cannot see!!!), when they relented and accepted to put red bars, triangles and diamonds, as specified by the POH (but in contravention to the instruments actually installed in the plane, which have multiple red lines).

i have mine installed now and it manages all 5 tanks and all engine and electrical monitoring, i have also moved the fuel switches off the floor (and eliminated the center console extension) onto the panel...as well as added 2 round digital ei backup gauges for TOT and TQ.. i would add a picture, but i don't see how... you can go to this website , there are a a couple of pics
