I currently fly my SE on my FAA 61.75 certificate.

New EASA rules mean that, as an EU-based operator, I will need an EASA Cessna SET rating at some point, and an EASA IR.

Is anyone out there (probably operating an EASA-registered SE and so requiring such a rating) able to recommend an instructor/examiner who can:

1/ revalidate the Cessna SET rating on the owner's Silver Eagle?
2/ conduct an EASA IR skills test on the owner's Silver Eagle?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

D

Missed this thread, it seems I don't get email notifications anymore :-(

There is a Cessna SET instructor and examiner, with extensive C10T experience, in Luxembourg. PM me for contact details.

Congratulations! I assume you did it at Albatros in EDRY, and that's also where you will act as CRI? AFAIU, it is not possible to do a class rating just as a CRI, it has to be within an ATO.

Congrats Georg!  Excellent news.

Is the rating required for transient passage through Europe? Can I fly my SE around for a few months without the SET rating, before I head back to California?

On a non-EASA registered plane, you don't need an EASA licence and rating, unless the aircraft operator (you?) is established, residing or with a principal place of business within a Member State.
