Good news...I had a chat with the autopilot-Product-Manager from Genesys. They are about to develop a new all-digital autopilot.

See the extract of our email-exchange:

"We are developing a new digital autopilot for the Part 23 market due for TSO approval in 3rd quarter of next year. This will be able to utilize digital AHRS and ADC data along with digital EFIS navigation or analog navigation equipment. It will also add IAS, envelope protection, straight and level feature plus enhanced performance. It will be more suited to the P210 as opposed to the 2100 which requires dual ADAHRS and G600 EFIS to operate."

and

Thank you for the enthusiasm, we think it will be a fantastic product. I would be more than happy for you to reach out to the Cessna 210 community, if there is a high demand then this makes our STC decisions easier.
The new autopilot will require a single AHRS and ADC (or combined ADAHRS) and it would be interesting to know which EFIS they plan to integrate with or if they will be using analog navigation. This sort of feedback will ensure we implement the correct interfaces into the unit. We are leaning towards more EFIS installs since a lot of the market is moving that way with Aspen and Garmin leading the way; however we understand not everyone either likes or can justify the cost of installing an EFIS. The new autopilot will hopefully cater for all cockpit formats.

Thank again for your support and interest.

...so...the more possible buyers would support it...the greater the chance will be to get an STC already next year.

Here again...who would be interested in a digital autopilot?

@Bob: would you support such a petition?

This will be good, the DFC does require dual ADAHRS and you can get this through the G500 or the G-600 and a L-3 Trilogy or the new MD-302 Mid Continent, we just installed one of the new back up Aspens which is a second ADAHRS as well in a SE that we just sent on it way to Santiago Chile, or pilot too it to Miami today and the owner will take the rest of the way on Thursday...This will be great if they are making an A?P that is more suitable...I'm planning on getting the DFC2100 certified for the Turbine 340....

How about a post on Cessna Pilots? Must be thousands of C210 owners.

I'll do that...but I am surprised that there are not more SE Pilots interested in a All-Digital Autopilot...I think that will make a biiiig difference in IFR-Flying

George don't worry, there are a lot of SE owner who don't read this site, if S-TEC comes out with this newer version or stays with the DFC2100 I will sell 10 or 12 of them immediately....On the DFC 2100 of which I have been in contact with them, all I needed to do was take them a SE for the test platform and with a minimal order they would approve the system for the SE...you need to check with them and see piston powered 210's would be the same as the turbine version, the current S-TEC 55X for the SE is actually different...but perhaps the MEL might be the same, but anyway I'll be good for at least a dozen of them...Bob

Hi Bob, good to know...The Program-Manager told me, that if we have about 10 pre-orders...he would consider having the STC for P210 in the first wave...meaning third quarter 2017...

Update:

We are on track :- ) Here the next email from Genesys...let's hope that it will happen!

"Hi Georg,

Thats great news. We have the 210 on our short list and we now need to speak to our ODA administrator and STC team to estimate timings and costs. This wont be for another couple of weeks due to the holidays and other travel commitments.

Once I have a clear idea of our business goals I'll share some details of the autopilot which can be shared amongst your group to find out if the new autopilot fits their expectations.

Kind regards"

...please...if someone else is interested...please PM me...so that I can put you on the list of SE-owners wanting a digital AP
