Does someone have experience with a yaw damper coupled to the S-Tec 55x?
My SE doesn't have one and I am wondering, if it would be a good additional feature...

I have one. It handles descents well and is generally effective in managing the rudder on autopilot from the cruise down to final approach.

When the tip tanks are full, however, it can get the aircraft into yaw oscillations in the climb and I find it can be better to turn it off, especially if airspeed is below 140 knots indicated.

Do you feel a big difference with the yaw damper on or off?

Certainly. The aircraft requires quite a bit or rudder trim in the descent and slowing to circuit speeds. The yaw dampener takes care of that quite well.
